Open House Live!

Our first OPEN HOUSE LIVE show was a great success!  We enjoyed talking to a very decorated Realtor in the Leavenworth/Lansing area - Francis X. Thorne.  We talked about different subjects including first time home buyer tax credit, resale value in Lansing and Leavenworth, new jobs coming to Leavenworth, KS including 400 good paying jobs at the Veterans Administration.  We talked about working for Coldwell Banker Reilly & Sons and what a great environment the company provides. We also talked about the history of open houses and how Real Estate has changed from a male dominant career to a female dominant career in the last 40 years.   Lisa Rees is definitely on top of the Real Estate market in Lansing and Leavenworth and would love to guide & help you in your home buying and selling experience. If you are looking to relocate to the Lansing - check out the Ridge at Rock Creek!  The video below shows a complete walk thru visual tour of the Breckenridge in this beautiful Reilly Community.

Open House Live!

I would like to introduce to you a talk show that puts a new twist on open houses. OPEN HOUSE LIVE!  Very simple and easy to set up!  Ustream.tv is one site that gives us Realtors the possibility to stream our OPEN HOUSE LIVE! to the web.  There are so many benefits to streaming your open houses.  Not only do I enhance my safety by streaming live, I also have the ability to save my show and send the link to anyone interested in buying.  I plan to have everything in one place!  When I send my client the link to my show he or she will have a video visual tour, some information from me about the neighborhood, resale value, possibly an interview with the builder or project manager of the community, local sponsors to call in case they run across a problem, a live chat room for on the spot questions and maybe throw in a couple commercials about myself.  My first show will be broadcasted live on Ustream.tv - Sunday, March 14th from 2:30 to 4:00.  Just go to Ustream.tv and search for Open House Live or go to Lisarees.com and click the OPEN HOUSE LIVE LINK!

IT WAS AN ACCIDENT - No Excuse When Driving!!

Accidents are going to happen! Your children are going to have silly accidents while they are growing up!  Accidents sometimes just can not be avoided.  As a Realtor, accidents can be very dangerous and deadly!  We, as Realtors, are in a profession that requires us to be in our vehicles most of the day and with all of the new technology it is so easy to say to yourself - I am only going to send this one picture to my client and then I will concentrate totally on the road!   If you happen to rear end another car while you are not concentrating 100 percent on driving - you can injure someone and possibly kill them.  You know what you will more than likely say -  IT WAS AN ACCIDENT!  If they can prove you were sending information to someone else while you were driving then you might have to call it MURDER! Our lives or others can be changed so fast!

Not watching the road

I am done talking about what we can do. Now, I want to draw your attention to other drivers behind the wheel.  Winter is in full attack and we have got to be aware of our surroundings.  Semi trucks, dump trucks and garbage trucks can be your worst nightmare come true.  Realtors are not the only drivers on the road with distractions.  Every driver on the road has things on their mind and technology at his or her fingertips.  Can you imagine a truck driver with a full load on his truck in slippery conditions - not giving his full attention to the road?  His stopping distance at 55 mph is probably about 50 yards if not more - that is half of a football field.  A garbage truck driver that is concentrating on getting his job done quickly so he might be able to go home early - might not have his full concentration on driving safely!

Rear end

The family in this car was very lucky by the looks of the accident because the truck was able to stop before it ran completely over the top.

*Here are some suggestions that you can practice while working from your car as a Realtor or at any time you are behind the wheel.*

Before you start your car always think about how terrible you would feel if some driver was not concentrating 100 percent on the road and killed someone you loved dearly!

Wear your Seatbelt

Say to yourself before putting your car in drive - Accidents can be avoided!

Always be aware of your surroundings

know your surroundings

Do not slam on your breaks or stop all of the sudden with a LARGE TRUCK directly behind you.  The truck driver can not read your mind and might not be able to stop before he runs over the top of your vehicle.  This includes using extreme caution at yellow lights that are getting ready to turn red.  A truck driver might think you are going to proceed thru the yellow light when all of a sudden you make a complete stop.  BE CAREFUL!!

Keep a safe distance from cars in front of you and behind you

PLEASE STAY OFF YOUR CELL PHONES WHEN DRIVING!

AFTER READING THIS BLOG PLEASE MAKE A NEW YEARS RESOLUTION AND A COMMITMENT TO YOURSELF - TO NEVER USE YOUR CELL PHONE WHILE YOU ARE DRIVING!
